Moab, Utah is the gateway to each Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. On the afternoon of May 24, 1869, at Green River Portage in what is now the state of Wyoming, a one-armed Civil War veteran together with a crew of 9 that included geologists, scouts and geographers, set off in 4 wooden rowboats to fill in a big clean: to discover and map one of the final and largest unknown areas of the United States-roughly 1,000 miles of the Colorado River by means of the rugged, desolate deserts and canyons of Utah and Arizona, including the mile-high cliffs of Grand Canyon.

I personally reside simply exterior the borders of Voyageurs National Park, with boreal forests throughout me. It is were I grew up and the wilderness country is where my coronary heart is. Seeing the forest of Frog Bay National Park reminded me a lot of those I look into on a regular basis and groom trails in. Being in the woods seems to be the place I am grounded the most.
